Beautifully handwoven from Pina (Pineapple) Fibres and 21 denier raw silk filament as warp. Indirect dye to international standards.

Pina fibres are harvested at 24 months by scraping the green resinous material from the leaf of the pineapple plant (Ananas Comosus (Linn) Merr) with a comb. They are beaten and washed to remove plant juices and then sun-dried and knotted. Each fibre is extracted singly and knotted end to end ready for weaving. Pina cloth is used for clothes, table linen and scarves among others.

CARE LABEL

Since the material is very fine, it must be hand-washed using mild soap and drip-dried and should not be rubbed or twisted, or it can be dry cleaned.
