Toronto Becomes Largest Fair Trade City in N. America

In the wake of the recent garment factory collapse in Bangladesh, which killed more than 800 people, consumers and larger institutions are growing more aware of the need for responsible sourcing initiatives such as Fair Trade. In its effort to support these initiatives, Toronto was officially designated a Fair Trade City in May at a flag raising event at City Hall, making it the largest Fair Trade City in North America.
